Ontario 403 Waterdown Road Burlington

## Burlington's Ontario 403 Waterdown Road: Delays Expected for Major Reconstruction Project **Burlington, Ontario** - The City of Burlington is advising motorists to prepare for significant delays on Ontario 403 at Waterdown Road due to a major reconstruction project scheduled to begin next week. The project, which is expected to last for several months, will involve the complete reconstruction of the Waterdown Road bridge over the 403, as well as the widening of the highway to six lanes between Brant Street and Upper Middle Road. During construction, the Waterdown Road bridge will be closed to traffic in both directions. Motorists will be detoured to use an existing bridge located approximately 1 kilometer to the east. The widening of the 403 will also result in lane closures and reduced speed limits in the area. Motorists are advised to allow for extra travel time and to use alternate routes if possible. The project is part of a larger plan to improve traffic flow and safety on the 403 in Burlington. The 403 is one of the busiest highways in Ontario, and the Waterdown Road interchange is a major traffic bottleneck. The reconstruction of the Waterdown Road bridge is expected to be completed by the end of 2023. The widening of the 403 is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
